#IOTSWC24: Need to make your attendance more rewarding?

You know the paradox of choice. While a degree of variety can be beneficial, there is a tipping point where decision is less about the joy of choosing and more about the dread of choosing wrong. How to solve this conundrum when talking about emerging technologies? The IOT Solutions World Congress (IOTSWC), to be held 21-23 May in Barcelona, can definitely help you out. The event will showcase the latest developments and convene the brightest leaders from the world’s most disruptive brands to share their views on the opportunities and challenges of IoT, AI, Augmented Reality (AR) or quantum computing, among others, so that you can improve your business outcomes. Here are the unmissable gems of the 3-day show.

A few years ago, in the rush to focus on profitability, some benefits were overlooked. But in 2024, it’s clear that the Internet of Things (IoT) is delivering on its promise to enabling a transformative change -for good. Be it in manufacturing, energy and utilities, smart homes and smart buildings, transportation and logistics, or healthcare.

The global Internet of Things (IoT) market size is projected to grow from $714.48 billion in 2024 to $4,062.34 billion by 2032. And its impact is multiplied by other disruptive technologies like AI, Cloud Computing, Digital Twins or Quantum Computing to address the most pressing issues facing industry and society.

Actually, the Vice President of IoT at AWS, Yasser Alsaied, will explore the synergy of IoT and AI and discuss how IoT data is driving the next generation of AI breakthroughs in a thought-provoking keynote session of the congress.

But introducing technology alone is often not sufficient to sustain productivity improvements. In this sense, the playbook that has emerged from the Global Lighthouse Network – an initiative by the World Economic Forum– can serve as inspiration when seeking the path to success. Dinu de Kroon, partner at McKinsey, will expand on the six key factors to execute successful at-scale deployments.

Yet Joost Demarest, CTO at KNX, will argue that all the above-mentioned deployments need to be future-proof, and thus adopt standards enabling interoperability.

And Othman D. Aldahash, CIO at IoT Squared, will add that at the end of the day these changes have to be based on innovative business models, and explore innovations like the green hydrogen market to be spelled out by Pedro Rubio Blanco, Director of Technical Services and Technology at Engas, while Sebastián Trolli, Research Manager at Frost & Sullivan, will underline that automation needs to be a catalyst for climate action as the future is now.

They all will be warned by experts on the cybersecurity landscape that it’s nearly impossible to thrive in the Industry 4.0 era without identifying external threats and complying with all the regulations and standards.

The Barcelona Cybersecurity Congress 2024, which is a co-located event, will add some hints on how to use AI for fighting cybercrime or how to turn ransomware chaos into brand resilience, although it sounds pretty utopian.

Overall, both experts and attendees will have the possibility to discuss the key to future-proofing industry and the challenges of Net Zero targets by reinventing businesses, as well as to unwind during the Industry Solutions Awards, a gala to celebrate innovation.

Finally, there will also be testbeds to hands-on experimentation, side events organized by partners and multiple possibilities of networking.

So, importantly, attending #IOTSWC24 will give you an indispensable overview of cross-sector solutions to stay ahead of the curve.

If you still need more information not to miss the event’s must-see highlights, check out the full program and keynote speakers on our website.

The stage is set, the curtain is about to rise. Stay tuned!
