Challenges Towards Hydrogen Network
Enagás operates a vast network of over 11,000 kilometers of high-pressure pipelines, 19 compression stations and 3 underground gas storage facilities. Leveraging our extensive experience, we are well-equipped to embark on the development of renewable hydrogen infrastructures outlined in our strategic roadmap, underpinning a vision of Smartgrids.
We embrace the transformative power of the Internet of Things, which is pivotal not only in our current GN operations but also in the imminent shift towards hydrogen. Currently, with IoT Enagás ensures real-time monitoring of gas pipeline pressures and collects data for asset management, facilitating proactive maintenance and enhancing operational efficiency and safety.
IoT remains instrumental, as it has the potential to enable improved operational efficiency, cost reductions, enhanced security, and real-time data collection for the current gas grid and future renewable H2 grids. Enagás remains committed to harnessing IoT's full potential for sustainable growth and innovation.
